  • Unable to Change Source Control When Old Server Is Not Available

Before christmas I needed to change TFS Source Control Server and the original server was not available anymore (and also the reason to why we had to change). After a couple of failed attempts I found this blog post (which also linked to this) and it worked out really well.

  • New TFS Features

In Team Foundation Server 2008 there is a new licensing policy that enables limited TFS access so that it is now possible to let the customers do bug reporting for example. • TechEd: Some Oslo Information

Parts of what is included in the Oslo vision is to make modeling even more important. They will do this by creating a new modeling language and tools, which will be the replacement of the Whitehorse-tools. The backward compatibility was ensured at several times though. Today TFS, BizTalk and System center all has their own model repository, but ...

  • More Code Analysis Warnings in Visual Studio 2008

Since I started to move some of my projects to Visual Studio 2008, I suddenly got a lot more warnings from Code Analysis. Today I took the effort to work through the list of the new warnings (I had zero in VS 2005). It turned out that most of them were spell checking warnings and Saml was not a recognized word, but very common in these projects. I ...

  • [Team System] TFS 2008 - Better Build Support, But Good Enough?

I picked up the blog post written by Buck Hodges today about some of the new features related to Build in TFS 2008. I'm glad to see CI built into the product and better control of the build process as well as better support for editing the build steps. Not that I fear editing some XML, but GUI support is always welcome as long as you can do some ...

  • Database Unit Testing

I written a couple of post about Datadude by now, and unfortunately both of them have been about issues that I've had, so I thought it would be about time that I wrote about something that I like :) I've used the possibility to create database unit tests, manly to test some user defined functions that I have created, but also some stored ...

  • More Issues With Datadude

I recently blogged about some issues we've had with Datadude, and this is a post about yet another problem. The problem arise when we use schema compare, making a compare between the physical database and the project. When we do this we get differences, that actually does not exists, and I believe, that this too is related to caching.   If you ...
