ExpertZone: Modifying the WCF Software Factory

Johan and I have just delivered our talk "Modifying the WCF Software Factory and Make It Work For You" on ExpertZone Developer Summit. I think it went fairly well and our presentation is available here.

After the talk we got a question. Something like this: "Well, this seems to be great, but I don't often get the chance to begin a new project. Is it possible to use it in my existing solution?" This is a good question and the happy answer is "yes!". What you need to do is to enable the guidance package for the solution by choosing Tools -> Guidance Package Manager. In the Manager click "Enable / Disable Package" and choose the package that should be enabled. When enabling the WCF Service Factory package, the next step is to set up project responsibilities. The project responsibility setting is available when right-clicking on a project. When this is done it is possible to use the factory on the existing solution.

Eric,

I am new to GAT/GAX. I am looking for customizing WCF Software Factory so I can add invokatoin of GenerateWCFServiceContractFromWsdl.xml recipe so user can specify WSDL and can generate service contract while create solution based on WCF software factory. Any idea how I can achieve that?

I'm not sure if I missunderstood something of what you want to do, but creating Service Contracts from WSDL is in WCF Software Factory so you would not need to customize it to use that approach.
